Rotten Point House nestles into a pristine cliff top overlooking a perfect blend of the Southern Ocean, Johanna Beach, native coastal heath and a countryside of rolling green pastures.

Set alongside the Great Otway National Park on 100 private acres, the eco-friendly rammed earth architect designed house has been created with vast floor-to-ceiling windows and free-flowing spaces to ensure guests are never too far from the breathtaking views.

There’s a balanced minimalist aesthetic at play inside with classic Italian and Scandi furnishings… all perfect for kicking back and watching nature’s ever-changing panorama.

You’ll probably want to share this special house with family or friends, so it’s perfect that the house can sleep eight guests in four double bedrooms. Privacy is guaranteed and the home’s secluded location also makes it ideal for a romantic getaway for couples.

And you won’t have to worry about the chill in the cooler months since there’s a free-standing double-sided fireplace separating the living and dining areas as well as cosy underfloor heating throughout.

Fill the car with local produce and regional wines on your way to the house and you needn’t budge an inch from your glamorous digs. Maybe try some tai chi, meditation or yoga alfresco.

Remember, you’ve got 100 acres to explore so strap on your walkers and wander around or even tackle a section of the Great Ocean Walk which passes nearby.

A discrete addition to the landscape, a journey of gradual and layered concealment, opening landscape and ocean. Contrast; contraction/expansion, heavy/light, opaque/transparent….inside/outside/inside. Pure geometry, limited material palette and detailing create a stillness, a dematerialising interconnection with nature, landscape and time creating place and presenting focus. — NICHOLAS BURNS

No outside material was imported onto the site to prevent invasion of non-indigenous species on the property and adjoining national park. The house is sited on an existing clearing, no trees were cleared for construction.
